DEDICATED TO POSITIVE CHANGE

Jacques Wigginton, a Lexington native, is a dedicated public servant with a strong academic background, holding a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law and dual degrees in English and Political Science from Kentucky State University. He has served as a council member for Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and has extensive experience in workforce development, teaching, and community empowerment, focusing on helping underserved communities. Jacques has a passion for leadership and community engagement, having founded the Circle of Love initiative and organized several neighborhood development programs. His commitment to affordable housing, youth mentorship, and public service makes him a strong advocate for equitable development and opportunity in Lexington’s 2nd District.

Throughout his career, Jacques has demonstrated a passion for leadership and community engagement, founding initiatives like the Circle of Love, organizing neighborhood development programs, and working to expand affordable housing. His dedication to public service, youth mentorship, and community improvement makes him a strong advocate for the 2nd District. Jacques Wigginton is committed to fostering equitable development, improving safety, and enhancing opportunities for all citizens in Lexington’s 2nd District.

WHY JACQUES WIGGINTON?

Graduated undergrad at Kentucky State University.

• Earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he was President of the Black Law Student Association.

• Served as a council member for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.

• Extensive background in teaching, workforce development, and government leadership, aimed at empowering underserved communities.

• Served as Executive Director of the Kentucky Occupational Safety & Health Review Commission.

• Founded community-focused initiatives like Circle of Love and organized neighborhood development programs.

• Committed to expanding affordable housing and improving public safety in Lexington’s 2nd District.

• Passionate about equitable development, youth mentorship, and enhancing opportunities for all citizens.

• Active in the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Team during his time in law school.

• Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kentucky State University with dual degrees in English and Political Science.

• Recognized with the Holmes Award and the Most Outstanding Senior Award.
